Final Year Project: ‘Research and Development Report of a Children's Digital Reading Application, including the Creation of an Interactive, Multimodal Adaptation of Alice in Wonderland'.

For this project, I wanted to showcase the programming and development skills I had learnt during my time at university, while also demonstrating my creativity and ability to illustrate and animate. It was non-negotiable for me that in creating a children’s application, it needed to be ethically produced and focused solely on benefitting it’s young target users.

I taught myself React Native using YouTube tutorials and online forums. The codebase was developed in Visual Studio Code and the prototype was deployed with ExpoGo and shared via QR code. All illustrations were drawn in Procreate, and were then turned into animations using Procreate Dreams.

I received a grade of 80, i.e. a first class honours for this project.

Above is a video walkthrough of the digital reading application, submitted as part of my final year project. This prototype displays areas for further development that were outside the scope of this project and time frame, but are relevant to the overall functionof the application.
